I have been working on this pattern for a few weeks for a friend at work who is having a baby boy. I have everything else made but the tunic. I have torn it out twice now, because i have absolutely no idea how to do the overlap for the button hole placket. I’ve never done anything like it before. Everything else turned out perfect. I don’t want to give up and tell him no, and i can’t find any instructions online for how to do an overlap. would you be able to send me detailed instructions, or a video on doing an overlap? It would really be appreciated, and would certainly come in handy for any sweaters in the future that have an overlap.

WOW! this is awesome! but I do not know how to knit, I can crochet like a devil, anyone know someone who can convert this into a crochet pattern maybe?

I just had a baby 2.5 months ago. We named him Link Alan Schulz and a friend just posted this picture on my Facebook page of the Link outfit. We are willing to pay $80.00 plus shipping to someone who can make the entire outfit and blanket for him. He’s a big boy (very tall for his age) and is getting too long for 3-6 months sizes. I am making this pattern, but having trouble with the buttonholes. Step 7 says:

Make a buttonhole on the overlapping part of the placket every 6 rows as follows: when you reach the 6 stitches forming the overlapping part of the placket, k2, k2tog twice, k2. When you get to the gap on the following row, CO2 using the backward loop method.

Now, k2, k2 tog twice, k2 is a total of 8 stitches, not 6.

Is it k1, k2 tog twice, k1?

Or should I do k2, k2 tog, yo, k2?

Or is there something else I should do???
